Living large (on a small budget)

Wednesday morning. At the ritz Carlton pool. Super sunny. Super windy.

Hawaii through my phone

As little John said "we're going on a road trip to Hawaii". Who does that?

36 hours of travel (including a stay over in Vegas) and we made it to Maui. There's been fighting here and there but it's been great. We drove the strip late at night. Had a good sleep and breakfast. A long wait at the San Diego airport. An interesting plane ride.....Leah and I were put in first class and everyone else was split up within a few rows of each other, each with a window seat. Someone commented after the flight at how impressed they were with how good our kids were.
We got to Maui at 10:30pm maui time, 2:30am utah time and just missed a tropical storm. The power was out at the car rental place. We got our cars and headed out.
First day was spent on Napili bay beach playing in the sand and body surfing/boogie boarding. We've had our meals on the patio over looking the golf course and are enjoying our time here.

Heaven and back

Emily went to heaven last night with her friend Jordan. Jordan was given tickets for Christmas and she took emily. What a gal!!

She had a blast but sadly didn't know that a T-shirt would cost a life's savings.
Poor girl. The concert without the tshirt is like half a concert.
Thank you Jodi and Jordan!!!  You're the best!

Windy at the park

I can't believe I didn't get a picture of little John playing softball with the stake youth. Every July, for four days, there are youth, women's, and men's softball tournaments with music and Popsicles and fun. Little John had a home run. It was fun to watch him play.

Leah thought the park was much more fun.

The Fourth

More pictures for this.  We started the day with the boys in the Centerville parade with John for city council.  Next, all the kids, except Leah, went to the West Bountiful parade to pass out Pizza Pie coupons.  We then grabbed lunch on our way to the outlets where we thought we'd take care of school shopping like we did last year.  Too bad the sales weren't nearly as good as last year.  We then drove through Provo Canyon and ended at Karey and Travis' house to roast hot dogs and marshmallows around the firepit while the kids ran around with a kite on the golf course.  We drove home watching all the fireworks along I-15.
It was a nice day.

EFY bound!!

These girls are going to have a great week.  They are staying at Karey's house in Cedar Hills and she is transporting them to and from UVU every day until Friday.  The fun started last night.  I guess they stayed up until 2 and got up plenty early this morning with lots of giggling.  Oh girls are fun.  And these girls are such great friends.  Jordan, on the far right, is Emily's friend.  Sounds like she is fitting in nicely.  So glad to hear.  I sure love these girls and am so grateful for the good friends that they are.

Beautiful day

We went to the temple with a whole bunch of Higginsons today. It was wonderful. David's first time as he prepares to leave for Calgary on his mission in a month and Sarah's first time as she prepares to be married next weekend.

Thanks to Richard, Kara, John R, and Lisa for a nice lunch at pizza pie cafe.
Little john is now with his old and mature cousins, Thomas went to a movie with Zach, Robert and Teresa and the rest of us are loving this rainy, cool weather with Lots of thunder and lightning.
