Blogging

Being the spastic that I am.....I can't sit still and just watch a movie. I like to be doing something. The kids wanted me to watch Dennis the Menace with them for family night, so I sat down with the computer and my camera and got a whole lot of blogging done.

It's good to be back. :)
Hopefully I'll be back soon to post some bowling and John's trip to Singapore and India. After that, I will be caught up!! Until then.........

If Walls Could Talk...

...this wall would have many, many years of tales to tell.

I walked into a room at my grandmas house the other day and immediately had that nostalgic feeling. "The blue room", the many sleepovers, sneaking the neighbor girl in to sleep over with me (my grandma said no so I asked grandpa, he said yes. Grandma didn't know until morning and I was in trouble. Oops. Sorry Grandma.) And a lot of wonderful memories with my cousins and the dominos and BIG coloring books. Thank you for the good memories Grandma and Grandpa. Anyway, thanks to Lisa's idea, I took a picture of the wallpaper. Do you like it? I LOVE IT. It is full of memories!!

And this is my cupboard. After I put away the dishes I stood back to look. Do you think we have enough plastic? And almost all of it gets washed on a daily basis. When five children need a drink every 10 minutes from 7 am to 9 pm, it goes fast. Don't ask me why I have that stack of cream colored plates. They are plates from our wedding. That is all that is left of a 12 place setting set of big plates, medium plates, small plates, and bowls. The bowls have all been broken for years. We rarely use them. I am all for Corel!!!

Bathroom Remodeling and fun with pipe

This is the ceiling. And this is the hole in the floor with the new pipe in place.

John needed light so one section remains....kind of. And this my friends, is the manifold.

This puppy caused lots of grief. After he thought he was done in the middle of the night, a cap blew off and water shot out everywhere. John says that is when he wept. :)
I love you John. You are a good man!!

This is the finished product of the upstairs bathroom remodel. It obviously still needs some decorating and color. John did it all and he did an awesome job. He even tiled around the tub and turned it into a shower. We painted one wall five different colors until we decided this is the one we love.
What a handyman!!! John just told me last night that working on things is therapeutic for him. There are the occasional setbacks that get frustrating but when he finishes one project he quickly asks what project he should do next.
He is in the process of remodeling the downstairs bathroom. But this isn't just a little remodel. As we started tearing things down, we found a lot of rust, mold, and rotted wood so the entire bathroom has been gutted. John even broke the concrete in the floor to move the drain for a new shower and with his dad''s push, spent 22 hours installing a manifold so our entire house has awesome water pressure now. He got started Saturday morning at 6 and worked until 4:30 am Sunday morning. Our washer now has pressure and doesn't take 30 minutes to fill up with water. It is wonderful!!!!

Garbage Day Fun

The kids love to watch the garbage man and sometimes follow him around the circle to watch every can of garbage dump. I am entertained watching the boys.

Legacy Shows

Emily's class did the play Prince and the Pauper. Emily was a street person. It was in class and it was cute. Good job Emily!! Her teacher, Ms. Parr does such wonderful things. I have been really happy with her.

Every term the kids have a show what you know assembly. John learned the ukelele, Emily did a readers theater and we were there to see Nairn and Jacob dance. It was actually really good. They are a pre performance for a local high school's school play. (John is on the front row in a red shirt. Emily is the one with her hands in the air in the third picture and I don't know where she is in the second picture. Nairn is in a blue shirt, Jacob is in a red shirt....good luck.) Good job to all of you. It was fun to be there!!

Seussical the Musical

We happened to hear about this play the day of and decided we'd make it family night so we went to see Caroline, Hannah, and Elise in Seussical the Musical at their school. On the day we went, Hannah was sick. We were sad to miss her but enjoyed watching Caroline and Elise. It was very cute and they did great. I love how Elise is looking up to Caroline in the second picture. Good job girls!

Samuel in Paradise

Sam found an abandoned ice cream cup and went to town. All of these pictures were too cute not to post.

Easter dinner at Grandma Great's House

These are pictures of Grandma Great, my uncle Marvin, aunt Peggy, cousins Ashley, Lacey, Preston, Levi, Uncle Dan, Mom, Jolie, Sean, and family, Ryan, Laura, John, me, and my family enjoying Easter together. It was so nice to be together. The Easter Grandma had an easter egg hunt. In some of the eggs were prizes. We all ended up with an easter basket and some ended up with gold and silver eggs with money. It was a wonderful day.
