HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!

"May we be found among those who give our thanks to our Heavenly Father. If ingratitude be numbered among the serious sins, then gratitude takes its place among the noblest of virtues. Despite the changes which come into our lives and with gratitude in our hearts, may we fill our days—as much as we can—with those things which matter most. May we cherish those we hold dear and express our love to them in word and in deed."
--Thomas S. Monson, "Finding Joy in the Journey", Ensign, Nov 2008, 84–87

I hope you are enjoying the day with loved ones. We will be spending Thanksgiving at my mom's house with my mom, my brother, his wife, and her mom, my sister and her family, my dad and his wife, and my grandma. My mom is so sweet to have everyone over and has already done so much to make it a special and great day for all of us. We hope it is wonderful especially for my 90 year old grandma.
I am thankful for my wonderful husband and children. An amazing mom and family and wonderful in-laws whom I adore and love as my own. I am thankful for the home we have been blessed with. I am a very lucky girl!!! Have a great day!!

Samuel's Art

A while back my mom called me and asked if I had gone to her house during the day. I did. Turns out this is why she knew someone was there.
Sam came downstairs with a permanent marker but I couldn't find where he may have used it. I went over with my "goof off" and cleaned it up. Sorry Mom!!!! He just wanted to draw you a picture!! (My mom just laughed and thought it was cute. She took these pictures.)

Remembering Uncle Aaron

Aaron passed away one year ago on Nov. 29th. The headstone Leslie designed was just put in place on Thursday so we went out to see it tonight. It is beautiful. We are thinking of you Uncle Aaron and remembering the wonderful man you were. We are also thinking of you Leslie and Aaron Jr. We love you!!!
We also stopped to see where President and Sister Hinckley were buried. There is just something about cemeterys. There is always a peaceful feeling. (Thomas said he wants to come play Ghost in the Graveyard at the cemetery.)

Friday night we went to a bells concert at the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Jolie, Sean, Jill (Sean's mom), Ryan, Laura, my dad, Kate, Gma J., lil John, Emily, John, and I went. My mom stayed home and watched Jolie's four kids and my 3 youngest. THANK YOU MOM!!! It was nice. It was especially nice to see my dad and Kate and Grandma. The tabernacle doesn't have a bathroom in it so I had to take John and Emily outside and around the corner before the concert, my grandma in the middle of the concert, and Emily after the concert. Boy, that was fun. The BYU football team was having a fireside in the Assembly Hall. Wish I had known. We had a nice evening. So glad we could be together. My grandma is 90 and she's never been in the Tabernacle. I was glad she could see it. Now I need to get her to the Conference Center. She'll be amazed.
The best part of the night was having John and Emily be such good friends. They are completely different people when they are alone together. They had a great time together and were a JOY to be with. Thanks for coming with us John and Emily. It sure is nice when we can have time with you two.

We visited Grandma and Grandpa tonight. We had a nice time. Ate cookies, played games, lots of visiting. Jack didn't want his picture taken but isn't he cute? Emily spent most her time with us, sad that she didn't have any girl cousins to play with so she spent a lot of time playing ball with Sam. I enjoyed taking a few pics....just for fun.

Sam was a character, as always. He kept us very entertained.

Thomas is just a sweet boy. He came up every once in a while just to sit with us. At the end of the night, we played the "name game". It's a fun game. The kids did a great job and it was fun to play with them and Grandma and Grandpa. We love you Gma and Gpa!!!!

Sam entertained himself for quite a while just sitting in this box coloring and poking holes in the cardboard. FUN!!! Cute kid.
I started to cut Sam's hair today but the closer I got to the back, I just couldn't bring myself to cut off his adorable mullet curl. He is almost 2 and has never had a haircut. It is just to soft and sweet to mess with right now. So enjoy my little boys mullet a while longer!!!

John spoke in Emily's class again. As they ate chinese food, he showed them about 60 pictures of the food he has eaten or seen in China. From eels to gator to dog. The chinese have a saying..."We will eat anything with legs except tables and anything that flies except airplane. Since John speaks chinese, he thinks it's fun to tell the chinese people taking them to dinner that he will pass on some things but his colleagues would love to try it.

The kids have "show what you know" assemblies often. I happened to be at the school this day so I snuck in to watch Thomas. They sang several patriotic songs. It was very cute. He sure is a sweet boy.

I know...just what you wanted to see. This is Max and Frank. "Cousin" dogs.

This is Sam and Ethan..."cousins". Sam found this pool at Maria's house and kept pushing it back and forth across the circle. Finally it ended up in our yard and Ethan and Sam had a great time.

This is my nephew, Zach. While he was helping his mom clean, he breathed in a little too much cleaner and ended up in the hospital on oxygen. Thank goodness all is well. Look at those beautiful eyes.

Thomas and Daniel made a "real" Mr. Potato Head. They were pretty proud of their work. Good job boys.

This is at the Bountiful Cemetary where my friend Denise's brother was buried.

My cousin Ashley is getting married. She is the blonde. Her sister is Lacey. Emily absolutely adores both of them. Congratulations Ashley!!!

Y?

These are the Y cookies that John and little John made for the BYU game yesterday and these are the Y boys....best of friends. Not much of a game. Maybe next year!!!

House Hunting

We've been watching/driving by this house for a couple months now. It is in our stake, in a circle, and really cute. It has 4 bedrooms upstairs. It is 3 floors, the basement is unfinished but all together it is about 4000 square feet. Drawback...very small backyard. We really like this house. Although, we haven't been inside. But what's the point of going inside if it's going to sell before our house sells. So we wait patiently........:)

Now this house!! Oh man. It's a dream. The sister of my good friend Kathy is building this home. I really want to go inside this house. It is on 1/3 acre. It has 5 bedrooms upstairs, a 3 car garage, and has 3500 square feet. This house is in West Bountiful. I absolutely LOVE it. Enough that I'll find out how my husband would feel about finding a lot and building this home!!! My mom and my sister are laughing at me right now, I'm sure. I keep falling in love with homes and then watch them sale while we wait patiently for our house to sell. Jenny and Brady...good job! This house looks beautiful!
Thanks for looking. I love to call my mom and sister and have them look up houses online that I love. My kids found the house they wanted. It came with an awesome swingset and playhouse out back. It had a great view of the temple from the front room window. But homes like that at the great price it was, don't last long. We have watched several "great deals" come and go as we sit here and wait......patiently.

Happy Halloween 2008

This ghost is what we made and handed out to our trick or treaters. We had a good day. The kids and John walked all around the ward and Richard's ward. Then we drove to a couple of festive Halloween houses and the huge mansion up on the hill. Their gate was open and they were giving out full candy bars. We saw in the paper that there was a haunted house so we went to that. Emily was scared to death. Jack wouldn't go at all. The picture of Jack in the elephant costume is him coming back to the car after walking halfway up to a house to trick or treat. He got in the car and said "I have enough candy. I don't want to trick or treat anymore." And he was done. He spent the day as Spiderman, changed into a cow for the first part of the night and ended as an elephant. This morning we dumped out all our candy in a pile and the oldest four went one by one taking turns picking candy. It was fun. John and I were surprised that the smarties, ranchers, and small candies were the first to go.
Happy Halloween!
I am just in shock that today is November 1st. It's actually been kind of depressing. The holidays go so fast and being November already is just crazy. So here we go. Here's to a great holiday season!!
