Happy Birthday Karey!!

Happy Birthday to my sister in law, Karey. She is beautiful and smart and crafty and is probably considered the "favorite aunt" among many nieces and nephews. She is adored by them all. She taught herself how to decorate cakes and has had her own business making wonderfully, beautiful cakes. In fact, my cake was my most favorite thing about my wedding. I loved it!!! She knows short hand (is that right?) and I have been very grateful for that talent during all of my babies blessings. She sews and makes up her own patterns. If she sees anything crafty, and likes it, she seems to always be able to whip it up but even cuter and better.

This is a picture of her with her husband, Travis, daughter, Veronica, son, Joe, and two nieces, Hannah and Elise. Karey is the oldest of 11 children and is looked up to by everyone in the family. I admire you Karey. I am continually amazed by your talents. You are a wonderful mother and have done an awesome job raising your children. I respect you and your thoughts and opinions and am so very grateful to have been blessed with such a wonderful example, friend, and sister. I hope this year is wonderful for you and your family! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday DAD!!

My dad is a jack of all trades. Really. You name it, he will figure it out and do it. He loves a project. He loves to play. He has answered several questions, given lots of ideas, and has helped with many projects in our house. His grandkids adore him and love it when we say we are going to see Grandpa J.
He has suffered through several health problems the last couple of years but keeps hanging on and plugging through day to day.
Dad, I am so glad we have you. I am glad you survive over and over again. I miss you. I love you. I hope you have an amazing year FILLED with happiness and wonderful blessings. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Flowers with Grandma

Grandma is admiring the double impatience. Luckily we found some for sale and they are on a planter on my house.

Jolie, Caleb, and Anna. Cute Katie.

Samuel, Jack, and Thomas hanging out under the flower cart.

Grandma and the beautiful marigolds. I always think of grandma and grandpa when I see marigolds. The kids did pretty well but it looks like Jack had enough with the pictures!!

Jolie and the kids and I went with my grandma to a nursery on 33rd south. It was so beautiful and fun to look at all the flowers with grandma. I had to take pictures. It was so sweet to watch grandma walk around and pick out the most beautiful. I have planted all of the flowers she picked out in planters on my porch. I'll have to take pictures of them. I love that my flowers were picked out by grandma.

Happy Birthday Zach M.

Jolie has family birthday parties for all of her kids. This year Zach had a Star Wars themed party and designed his own cake. So Jolie made it the way it was designed.

The kids LOVE to watch (well, help) the birthday kid open presents.
And Sam is becoming a climber. He has even figured out how to get on top of the island in our kitchen. Cute kid.

New Windows and Cute Kids

Yeah for new windows!! It is wonderful. The greatest thing about it is we can open the window in our front room and air can blow through our house. I love it!!! They easily slide and they are pretty. Woo hoo!!! I haven't taken a picture of the outside yet though. I'll have to do that. We are still debating whether to paint our shutters and front door black.
Jack, Thomas, and Hannah Fulkerson are just chillin, eating their raw ramen WITH the seasoning sprinkled on top.

90 YEARS

Happy 90th Birthday Grandma!!!
My grandma turned 90 years old on June 1st. She is visiting my aunt so we will get to celebrate when she gets back.
This sweet lady has such wit. You wouldn't believe it. She cracks me up all the time. She was an avid golfer and bowler up until a few years ago. She gets around like she's 70. She takes great care of herself with doctor visits and keeping up on her health. When I was a kid, I called her "wotty" or "wotty, wotty". I loved having sleepovers at her house and had fun choosing which room to sleep in....the blue room or the gold room. I would run away from home and go to her house. She lived down the street from me and across the street from my school in Taylorsville. It was always so nice knowing grandma and grandpa were so close. I remember throwing bread on the roof for the birds. She always had my favorite cereal corn pops. She made me butter and honey sandwiches. We would watch The Price is Right and The Young and the Restless. There was always a puzzle being put together, a golf club to swing, or badmitton going on in the backyard. We would cross the street to the school and have big family games of baseball. Countless games of Kismet. The best darned food you would ever taste. We always thought grandma should open a restaurant. She is the absolute best cook. I learned table manners and all other kinds of manners being at grandmas house and still think of her and grandpa every time I see my kids being disrespectful. I am grateful for the example they set and taught. We'd have "shirley temples" (sprite with a marichino cherry in it), always chocolate milk, and card games galore. Grandma, I have a lifetime of wonderful memories with you. I would give anything to go back to being a kid at your house. We'd string popcorn at Christmas and dance around the record player. Wow....what great memories. I sure miss those wonderful times together as a family.
Grandma, you are beautiful and funny and a joy to be around. I love to visit you and wish I could be there daily to enjoy so many more moments of your life. You always have great advice for me and teach me such great lessons. How to cook a roast, what flowers are what and where they should be planted, keeping a clean house, and so much more. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories. I look forward to many more. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!
